Advanced production methods for manufacturing bars or pipes directly continuous (or semi-continuous) from the molten metal state. Artificial graphite is considered a more suitable material for molds used in the continuous or semi-continuous casting of non-ferrous metals. Production practices have proven that the continuous casting industry uses graphite molds, which improve casting speed due to their good thermal conductivity (thermal conductivity determines the solidification speed of metals or alloys) and good self-lubricating properties. This not only increases the casting speed but also allows for direct processing of the cast ingots due to their precise dimensions, smooth surfaces, and uniform crystalline structure. This greatly improves yield, reduces waste loss, and significantly enhances product quality.

Continuous casting methods include
two types: vertical continuous casting and horizontal continuous casting
Continuous casting methods include two types: vertical continuous casting and horizontal continuous casting.
Continuous casting graphite molds are also used in the metal smelting industry, where molten metal can be cast using graphite molds. Graphite molds are reusable, but some designs are only for single use. Using graphite molds allows for the precise casting of small grain castings.
Graphite molds designed for continuous casting need to consider all these factors and apply them to your specific application.
Graphite molds designed for continuous casting need to consider all these factors and apply them to your specific application. Grade selection is important and should involve input from casting personnel, graphite manufacturers, and machining shops specializing in graphite. Even so, when designing new systems, practical tests may be required before selecting the actual graphite grade.
